Web Engineer at Gumgum, Santa Monica

GumGum seeks a Web Engineer to join our technology team in our Santa Monica, CA. office. The ideal candidate will be responsible for building elegant user interfaces for data-driven web applications. This person will have a strong interest in Internet ad serving technologies and be a great communicator and problem solver.

Job Responsibilities

• Build elegant user interfaces for data-driven web applications with graphs, charts, and tables
• Test and deploy applications on Amazon EC2 and CloudFront
• Develop SQL queries for MySQL databases
• Contribute to an agile development process

Desired Skills & Experience

• Exposure/usage and understanding of Internet ad serving systems and technologies
• Knowledge of the latest and greatest in JavaScript/HTML/CSS
• Familiarity with solutions to browser compatibility issues
• Experience with JQuery, Google Charting and Visualization APIs preferred
• Proficiency in PHP5 and PHP MVC frameworks (e.g. CodeIgniter)
• Proficiency in SQL required. Experience with MySQL preferred
• Very high-level of accuracy, keen attention to detail and comprehensive, data-driven problem solving
• 1-3 years experience in integrated media and online advertising, including familiarity with CPC, CPM, CPA pricing models; agency experience strongly desired
• Experience with startups or small business environment
• Ability to self-manage while thriving in a fast-paced environment with multiple projects and tight deadlines
• Demonstrate strong communication skills, with the ability to converse with internal departments as well as clients/agencies
