Drupal Developer at InkMe, Venice

We are looking for a Drupal Developer who will report directly to the Creative Director and Senior Systems Architect, who can assist in day to day operations and miscellaneous issues that arise with having a large scale social networking site.

InkMe.com is a social site for the tattoo community. Artists can post their portfolio in the searchable database, sell on the market place, schedule appointments and interact with fans.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Develop custom websites using Drupal, PHP, HTML and other languages
• Interprets customer/internal requirements to establish complete and accurate functional specifications and product documentation
• Effectively develops software to achieve the specified functionality
• Properly documents software and controls the revision status of design documentation
• Maintain client websites and troubleshoot problems as they arise
• Performs other work as assigned by the Senior Lead Developer

Technical Qualifications

• 5-7 years of web development experience, with at least 5 years of project leadership experience
• 2-3 years of Drupal CMS development experience
• Experience with Linux/Open Source software
• Expertise with the Drupal framework, PHP, SQL, JavaScript, JQuery, AJAX, MySQL, (LAMPS) required
• Ability to develop and maintain custom, site-specific Drupal Modules
• Ability to build out look and feel of site using Drupals theming engine
• Familiarity with Drupal’s built-in hook engine
• Ability to administrate ‘views’ from the Drupal Views Module, including view hooks for sorting and filtering
• Familiarity with server side cache for efficiency.
• Experience with the SVN repository protocol.
• Knowledge of search algorithms, Solr or Sphinx
• Experience preparing UML technical system documentation
• Post-secondary diploma or degree in computer science, engineering, or related field an asset

• Complete understanding of the project lifecycle
• Excellent knowledge in Drupal, creating custom modules and hooks
• A willingness to work in a fast-paced environment outside of normal working hours where required
• Extreme attention to detail and consistency to minimize errors
• Excellent organizational and troubleshooting skills with attention to detail
• Professional, reliable, and possessing a strong work ethic
• Excellent verbal, written, inter-personal communication skills
• A positive attitude and eagerness to learn are essential

Desired Characteristics

• Experience working with Content Management Systems and/or other web frameworks
• Knowledge of Ubercart
• Knowledge of payment processing platform integration
• Mobile development experience
