Front-End Web Developer, Santa Monica

Leading social media marketing company is looking for an exceptional Front-End Web Developer to join their team at their headquarters located in Santa Monica. You will be responsible for delivering professional, functional webpages with clean code that follow the latest web standards and best practices, and will be directly involved in helping rapidly grow both the consumer-facing and client-facing web applications, as well as contributing to the company’s website and marketing materials.

We are looking for an experienced, self-motivated web developer/designer with a broad knowledge of web development technologies and well-versed in software development processes, methodologies, and concepts. Expertise in the latest HTML/CSS markup standards is a must, and experience with Photoshop is a major plus. You’ll be working with a small, talented team on leading-edge applications used by some of the largest brands in sports, entertainment and retail.  We appreciate a developer who communicates clearly, works well with a team and has a great attitude.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for developing the presentation layer of new and existing web apps and websites
• Optimize and tune the apps for optimal performance and user experience
• Ensure browser compatibility across the supported platforms
• Quickly resolve production issues and defects as they arise
• Update website content on site using WordPress CMS and by hand-coding

Requirements

• BA degree or equivalent experience
• Expertise in hand-coded HTML & CSS
• 3+ years of Photoshop and web graphics production experience
• Must be able to convert a PSD design to high quality, cross-browser compatible, valid HTML / CSS markup (PSD to HTML)
• Able to work independently, on accelerated deadlines, without sacrificing quality or consistency
• Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• The legal right to work in the US
• Experience with mobile web UI development a plus
• LAMP (Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP) experience a plus
• Familiarity with JavaScript, AJAX, XML, HTML5 and CSS3 a plus
• Familiarity with WordPress CMS a plus
• STRONG SEO awareness and experience a plus
