Database Engineer, Los Angeles

The Database Engineer will support CCS Software Engineering in the development of high-quality, rich internet applications and reporting by designing and developing the necessary database components (queries, stored procedures, ETL script/package, etc.) in MySQL and MSSQL.

Responsibilities

• Develop database components to support new application development using MySQL.
• Support current software applications and processes written for MSSQL.
• Create intuitive interfaces and workflows.
• Communicate effectively across the organization.
• Engage in daily Scrum meetings and other project updates.
• Develop to functional and technical specifications.
• Develop Object Oriented code utilizing industry accepted coding standards and in-house established coding conventions.
• Take ownership of accepted delivery components assuring quality and timely delivery to specification.
• Additional duties could include working on the server-side business and database layer.

Skill Required

• Minimum 5+ years of experience in MySQL and SQL Server
• Strong experience with ETL and other Datawarehouse tools
• Previous experience supporting Business Intelligence applications
• Must be able to problem solve and work independently
• Knowledge of LAMP, Microstrategy and ColdFusion is a plus.
• Good communications skills and interested in excelling in a team-oriented environment
